Name a Litter, Start a Story

Naming a litter of future working dogs is a unique way to honor a special friend, family member, pet or occasion while supporting the work of Paws With A Cause. With a gift of $5,000 or more, you can name a PAWS Litter!

Plus! You and your honoree will receive a digital photo of the puppies at eight weeks old as well as a framed photo to display.

Naming Guidelines

Option 1

Choose a Theme

Select a theme (like “Star Wars”) and provide matching names for foster puppy raisers to choose from.

Option 2

Alphabet Letter

We’ll assign a letter (like “B”), and you create names starting with that letter.

Naming Requirements
  • Easy to pronounce (most two-syllable names work best)
  • No common human names
  • No inappropriate or offensive names
  • Avoid names ending like "no" (Joe, Bingo, etc.)
  • All names must be approved by PAWS team

Important! PAWS cannot guarantee named puppies will become assistance dogs. Dogs may join our breeding program, enter other working careers, be facility dogs or visiting paws dogs, or find adoptive families. Only one litter per naming request.
